Weight Control is A Lifelong Lifestyle !
I am back to my passion on the issue of overweight and obesity . When it comes to being overweight, you have to realise that it did not happen over night ! That must be your first major realisation towards being successful in the management of the problem .
Why ?
That is very important because if you have been unaware and have become overweight , than it is essential to understand that it took some time for your to reach to where you are today !
If it has taken about 5 years of having a life of enjoying or indulging in your favourite foods , now it is time to become aware . Aware that it took 5 years ! So , give yourself some time to also come down from your overweight !
Most people suddenly become aware of their issue and than they go rushing to reduce and want instant results !
That is where the smart people who are in the business of weight loss, as slimming centres , diet plans , medications and substances to reduce appetite , give you a sense of fullness and thousand other tricks are rushing to the banks and getting rich ! I am okay with all the drama that is going on , except that in the long run , very , very , few people really ever get slim or fit with all these ways .
Some do as they are disciplined and are able to continue their good habits . They would have done that without any external help as they are people with a disciplined mind already .
My one basic point that I am trying to get across is that : just remember that weight control is a lifelong plan or way of life !
The rest are fads that will come and go ! This diet plan or that diet plan are . They come and they go . Just walk into any good book shop and have a go at all the different books that available .
Come to the basics and commonsense and all will be just good !

Nobody Became Overweight Overnight !
Overweight and obesity has become a world problem . The human population is now getting fatter all over the planet . The issue is not getting better , in fact it is getting worse !
My wonder and amazement is that, did we become overweight overnight ?!
Nobody went to bed in a top and wonderful healthy shape and than got up shocked to see a huge and obese person the next day !!
It is always a slow gradual process that takes years to build . The weight goes up so gradually that we all have sufficient time to do some corrective or remedial steps .
It is like we are in some sleep or trance and than one fine day, for whatever reason , we get up from our sleep or trance and are shocked and upset by our over sized body !!
Then in a state of shock and near panic we rush around desperately looking for ways to become slim practically overnight !
It simply does not work this way !
Almost all diet programs and expensive slimming centres and their programs are not working !
Plenty of good money is being thrown in a sad and bad venture .
The whole issue is a lifestyle issue that can only be resolved slowly over time .
It is a lifelong and lifestyle issue that needs time to solve .
There are no quick fix solutions for most of the people .
Of course , there are people who may have some medical problems who need medical attention . That is a separate issue .
Majority of us are simple having a lifestyle problem .
Get real and start a simple process to reduce your eating and increase your physical activities !
It is east as that ! Let it be a gradual and slow process .
If you took 5 years to go up in weight , than , at least give yourself 2-3 years to come down too !
That is the only way that works in the long run and that will be permanent .
Most of the other methods are not working .
I will stop here . My point has been made .

Weight Control Revisited Again !
I sat up a web site some time ago , out of the blue ! Well , I just felt that something is really going on with everybody around ! They are almost all getting over weight !! I have sat in my medical clinic and watched most of my patients just getting over weight and fat ! On an average most people that I saw are putting about 2-3 Kilos per year !
What is happening and why is it happening ?
In spite of our progress in all fields of knowledge and understanding , we are not getting it right !
Just click Google and check the situation and the figures are pretty frightening to say the least !
The whole lifestyle and the food industry has created this massive , messy situation ! It has become too big and powerful for the average system to correct it ! The governing systems cannot do much ! So , sadly , we have to start by becoming responsible for our own self and our health . That is now a fact and reality !
The issue is so big that it had actually become a major billion dollar industry ! Over weight is big business . As we are now programmed , we think we can do everything fast , instantly and smartly .
It has not yet worked and I feel it is not going to work in the long run ! Sad , but that is the reality .
There is no quick fix to this chronic problem . We need to really study and understand the fundamentals that have gone wrong . We have to look at our lifestyle . We have to become aware that it is a life long issue . It is not something we can do quickly .
We have to understand how our body behaves . What happens if we eat in certain ways or certain amounts of food . the issue gets complicated as so many experts have risen that they are actually contradicting themselves ! High proteins diet , low fat , vegan , fruits and vegan , raw foods , milk is good or milk is not good . Fats that heal and fats that can kill and the list goes on and on !
Than we are constantly changing . We have to see ourselves in different stages of our life cycle . What we can do or eat when we are 20 years old , we cannot do when we are 50 years old . Our metabolic rate keeps changing . Our lifestyle is also changing . So goes with our activities and exercising patterns .
Than we also live in our world where stress is a real problem !
Managing stress is very , very important to our well being and health . Peace of mind and joy of life are all interrelated . We have to keep all these factors in mind to achieve a balanced lifestyle .
Weight control is the way in the long term .
I have made my point and I will keep making my point .

Weight Loss Vs Weight Control !
I am back to again touch on a topic that is of great concern to me . In my medical practice I have been watching my clients/patients over the years . I have become aware that weight does not go up suddenly out of the blue ! No , nature is very kind and benevolent to us . It gives us enough of warnings to correct or control our habits about anything ! I have yet to see a person going to sleep with 55.0 Kilos and than suddenly getting up in the morning and realising that he/she had gained 20.00 Kilos in a night !!
It is a slow and gradual process towards weight gain . It is so gentle and forgiving that we are allowed to indulge once in awhile and still fun time ! Nature once us to be happy and joyful , but not a level where we totally forget everything else and just go on eating or indulging in foods that are all out to make us miserable or worse still get sick !
As weight gain is a slow process , we just have to be aware and learn to control our weight . Now , that is not difficult ! It's just being mindful . 2-3 kilos can be managed gently .
On the other hand , we are not concerned for whatever reason , and than find we have gained 10-15 Kilos and are shocked !! I simply do not understand this phenomena . Whenever , I personal put on 2-3 kilos of weight , alarm bells go on for me ! I feel uncomfortable , feel bloated , my clothes tell me so, and my reflected image too starts to scream at me !
Weight control is gentle , kind and allows us to have fun , yet mindful to warn us to take control . It is a lifelong way.
Weight loss is altogether another game ! A whole industry has cropped up around this pathetic situation ! It's a Billion dollar industry and just getting bigger . People have got into a new mindset , where they want everything instant ! In this age of instant gratification , there are some painful lessons to reality . Weight loss is one such fact of life .
Please , please just take some time to sit and ponder . Think , reflect and ask yourself if I am writing or now blogging to amuse myself !
